Announcing the Father & Son Month of Frights!

It has been far too long since I hosted an event here at Tif Talks Books, and I decided that this time of year would be the perfect opportunity.  I have been wanting to read more books by Joe Hill for the past couple of years, but never seem to.  I have also been wanting to read even more of one of my favorite authors, the infamous Stephen King.  The light above my head lit up with the connection and I decided it was time I devoted a month of reading to a father and his son!

Let's get to the details:

What:  Father & Son Month of Frights -- A focus on reading anything and everything by a father (Stephen King) and his son (Joe Hill).

When:  October 15 - November 15, 2015

Where:  Hosted right here at Tif Talks Books.  We will have a midway check-in on Saturday, October 31 and a wrap-up on Sunday, November 15.

Who:  Anyone can join in!  Just link up a blog, Twitter, Instagram, etc. in the comments below.  We will be chatting all month long via social media using the hashtag #fathersonfright.

Feel free to use the image above to help spread the word.  If you have questions or comments, post in the comment section below.  I look forward to having you join me for a month of fright!

Will you be joining in?  What books might be on your list to read?

    1. FICTION STATE OF MIND ... I was thinking this would be a good overlap with RIPX and FrightFall Readathon, and maybe even Dewey's Readathon (if I can end up participating). I'm glad to hear you will be participating! Both of those books are on my TBR list, but I might start with Heart-Shaped Box or 20th Century Ghosts instead. I can't decide!!

    1. Kristen M. ... Great!! That one is also on my list, but I don't think I will get to it this time around. I have too many other things on my plate for that much reading!

  4. Guess what? I'm in. I'm reading Salem's Lot right now and listening to Joe's Locke and Key on audio (which I got for free from Audible the other day). Awesome! Of course, since it's horror, it will be via Castle Macabre. :)

    1. Michelle Miller ... Woohoo!! Thank you for joining! I'm curious about Locke & Key on audio though. The graphics in those are phenomenal. Do you get to appreciate those in this format?

    2. Tif, definitely because it's a FULL CAST performance! The actors are Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black, Haley Joel Osmont, Kate Mulgrew and others. It's really terrific. It's like watching a play. :)

    3. Michelle Miller ... That is so interesting! I have only listened to an audio like that once and I had very mixed feelings about it. It might have been because of the story too. It was one that left me with lots of mixed feelings too!

  5. This is an interesting concept. I'll have to research a few of my favorite authors and check if they have sons or fathers writing.

  7. my heavens, so many great reading events going on! I started my first King novel, 11/22/63 and never did finish it. This would give me a good incentive to finish but I'm also doing our Travel the World in Books readathon and probably the I am Malala readalong for Nonfiction November. Do any of King or Hill's books take place in foreign countries? hmmm.....:)

    1. Tanya @ Moms Small Victories ... That's a great question! I don't know about Hill's, but I can't think of any by King. I will keep thinking though!! This is a great time for events!!
