Back to the routine!!

ON READING

I didn't get a lot of time to read over this last week because I was out having a good time with my mom! (See On Life for the details!) I am very close to finishing The Kingdom Keepers #5: Shell Game by Ridley Pearson. All I can say about this series is that it just keeps on getting better!!

Last week, I posted a list of books for all my readers to help me choose which book should be my next read. I have only received one vote so far and there is still time to comment, so let me know what you think!

  1. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
  2. Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer
  3. The Bird Sisters by Rebecca Rasmussen
  4. Little Bee by Chris Cleave
  5. Blackout (Newsfeed #3) by Mira Grant -- 1 vote

Which would you vote for or encourage me to read next?

ON WRITING

Once again, with all the fun from this last week, I did not get in much writing. I finished two freelance pieces, one that I will link to later this week and the other to come at a later date. However, it is that time to get back into the writing routine again. I have decided to set myself a little challenge starting TODAY: Write a minimum of five days a week, even if it is only for five minutes! I don't want to dive in, so I think this will be more do-able for me. It was a portion of my original goal set when I joined the 10 Week Writer's Challenge a few months ago. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I dropped out of that one pretty early. As long as nothing completely unexpected comes up again, I am hoping to get back to it.

Anyone interested in joining me?

ON LIFE

Now to the fun part! As I mentioned earlier, I took this last week off to spend some quality time with my mom. We went to movies. We went shopping. We visited the zoo. We took the kids to the local children's museum. We hung out. We talked. We cried. We bonded over pedicures. We talked some more. We cried some more. We had a very, very good week! It was so sad to see her go though.

It was hard to go back to work, too. But, I did it and survived! I am exhausted, so I am going to leave it at that for tonight. I do have some pictures to share with you, but I am working on sharing them through a separate post later this week. I am still debating the Wordless Wednesday or another similar post, so once I decide on that, then you will get some sneak peeks into my expanding photo world!

Tell Me: What book do you think I should read next? Wanna join me for a little writing challenge or help me stay accountable with my own? What is on your reading and writing agenda this week?

  1. As far as writing, I've started without you. ;) It takes a LONG time to find my groove when my schedule changes and that time is filled with failed attempts and procrastination. You have to filter in my mood of the day as well. Anyway, I'm there.

Now about reading, I plan to join Michelle in a read-a-thon she's hosting. Here's the link: http://seasonsreading.blogspot.com/2012/06/high-summer-read-thon-information-and.html

I haven't joined one of these events since the book blogging days and don't plan to read a massive amount, but dedicating time to read for a week might help me get back in the reading groove. I'd been there for a short period and would like to get back. :)

Now back to you! Love reading the news about your mom! Her visit sounded like something you both needed. Reading about it warms my heart.

Okay, so this comment was way more than I intended. Have fun this week and remember to smile. :)

    1. 365andMe ... Yeah on the writing!!! Now I just have to get back to it!! I was doing so well there for a while, then it all fell apart! I'm going to get back to it though!

I am totally going to check out the read-a-thon. I've been kind of in the mood for one these days, so maybe this one will be it! Good luck to you on the reading. Feel free to keep me posted, especially on what you end up reading!

Thanks for the reminder to smile!! I really need that today, so very, very good timing on that one!! Thank you!

    2. Tif, this event lasts a week, which gives me more of a chance than a weekend read-a-thon.
