BOOK CHAT: February 2018 in Review

You may think that you are reading that title incorrectly.  Or, you may be thinking that I am losing my mind.  Neither of those are correct.  I am just really that far behind in posting my monthly wrap-ups, and I am determined to get them posted over the next few days.  At first, I thought I would just combine them all into one post.  Then, I decided I didn't want to.  So, bear with me as I post three months individually to get caught up.

FEBRUARY proved to be a whirlwind of a month.  My family was sick.  We went on some adventures.  And, I became an aunt for the very first time!  That last item was obviously the biggest news of the month, and one that I am absolutely loving even as I write this today!

The TOP PIC for the month came from one of the adventures our family took.  We started our day with a little snow-shoeing and ended it with some cross-country skiing.  I left the hill with back pain that had me in physical therapy, and deciding to stick with snow-shoeing from now on!

My list of BOOKS READ for the month proved to be a lower number than January, but still not too bad considering that it was a short month and that we had a lot going on.  Here's the full list:
  1. The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson #4) by Rick Riordan
  2. Whatever You Are, Be A Good One by Lisa Congdon
  3. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

My FAVE BOOK of the bunch was The Battle of the Labyrinth.  I have so much fun with this series for a number of reasons.  Percy Jackson is fun, action-packed, and I read these aloud with my kids.  Such a great combination!

MARCH would prove to be another whirlwind month for much of the same reasons, but I will save that one for later.  Keeping my fingers crossed that I can write more tomorrow and get all these monthly wrap-ups caught up before the end of the weekend.  Wish me luck!

YOUR TURN:  What do you remember from February?  Anything exciting or worth sharing, even a few months later?

  3. Fahrenheit 451 is a classic and I enjoy it each and every time I read it but not for the usual reasons. I just feel like it was so prophetic in the telling. I mean, think about ear buds and big screen TVs. I've seen ones covering entire walls of late. Families usually have many TVs too not just one. We are always plugged in. SCARY!!

    1. Ti ... It really is scary to see how plugged in we are, and how Bradbury kind of predicted that. I keep hoping that it is a just a fad, but sadly, I don't think that is the case. I think it is our new reality.

  4. February seems like a million years ago now, I think because it was so cold and gloomy and dark then and now it's the opposite. I can't even remember when there was snow!
