Runaways #2-3 by Brian K. Vaughan

I was browsing the graphic novel/comic section of my local library and was excited to see that they had received new copies of Runaways by Brian K. Vaughan.  Their previous copies were never returned and I was disappointed that I may not be able to continue with this series after seeing promise from the first volume, Pride and Joy.  Needless to say, that problem is now solved and I was able to pick up multiple volumes to tide me over.

Volume #2:  Teenage Wasteland

The six teens that ran away in Volume #1 are now holed up in a hidden hostel, debating their next move.  The one thing they do know is that they want to avenge the evil that their parents have been spreading.  In their pursuits, they are put to the test, learning more on how to work together and manage their powers.

Volume #3:  The Good Die Young

The group of runaways face the day they have been waiting for - a confrontation with their parents.  But, there is more than meets the eye in this battle and multiple sides that can be taken.  Sadly, the title does give away a little something, but I won't spoil you more than it already reveals.

I am liking where the story is going and am curious where the teens will be going from here.  I will be switching to Deluxe Editions at this time, so I can get more at once.  Overall, I don't think the story is as great as some of Vaughan's other works, but it is a fun story that has potential.  I will definitely keep on reading.

Have you met the runaway teens yet?  What do you think of this series so far?
