The Wednesday Sisters by Meg Waite Clayton
The Wednesday Sisters will break your heart and then refill it with love. Love that is genuine and pure. Love that has been worked for and earned, yet given unconditionally. Clayton brings us a story that is more than just the power of women. She brings us the story of friendship and how it can bring light to the darkness. She brings us the power of the written word and how it can help us to relate to the world. And, she brings us the story of America - the struggles our country has had to face - racism, sexism, and class-ism to name a few.
When I opened the book for a quick book club read, I was honestly expecting fluff. What I got was a complicated read that I found myself savoring. These women will be staying with me for quite some time.
Have you stepped into the lives of The Wednesday Sisters? What did you find yourself taking away from this novel?

I kind of forgot about this story, but now I am thinking of adding it to my reread pile for this year.
Jenna ... After I finished this book, I discovered that there was a sequel featuring Ally's daughter. Have you read this one? I am so tempted!Delete
