Monday Maunder: The Top News

I meant to share some of the top news at the beginning of the month, but instead shared the results of my latest readathon and other random thoughts.  I didn't want to overwhelm you all with too much news, so today I share with you a few of the highlights both here at Tif Talks Books and in life.

The ultimate top news is all about the Olympics!  I watched the opening ceremony in bits and pieces.  I have been catching skating and skiing as much as I can.  I cannot tell you how much I love watching the Olympic athletes!!  I am always so impressed with the ability of the athletes, particularly the skiers.  I grew up spending a lot of time on skis.  My school had ski days built into the school year.  I know how much work skiing is and I usually sit in awe at what these guys can do!

Speaking of skiing, I get excited about finally getting back on some skis in the year ahead, which brings me to another piece of big news ... We now know where we will be moving this summer!!  After a lot of discussion and reflection, we have decided to return to our home state of Montana.  We never thought we would return permanently, but an opportunity presented itself and we felt that is where we were meant to be!  I am very excited, though I will definitely miss living in a bigger city and wonder how much I will be able to handle the colder winters!!

As for the top news here on the blog ... 2014 saw a new feature called Journal Circle (which also happens to be the top post for the month in both hits and comments!) and the return of Fairy Tale Fridays.  I also started wrapping up the links I share via Facebook and Twitter via Literary Link Love.  It has definitely proven to be a new year with some new changes!

I will leave you with my photo that received the top likes (26 to be exact) on Instagram in January.  I still haven't read these books, but I will be getting to them very soon!  Right now, I am still in the midst of reading The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins for Wilkie in Winter.

What is your top news this week?  How about your top reads?

  1. I love Montana! Once upon a time I almost moved to Missoula, but life threw me a curve ball. Your families must be thrilled.
