Fables #3: Storybook Love by Bill Willingham

I have finally returned to another installment of Fables written by Bill Willingham and illustrated by a number of artists!  I have only recently discovered this graphic novel series, starting with Legends in Exile and followed by Animal Farm.  Today I chat about the third in the series, Storybook Love.

In Storybook Love, the fables once united to protect the world begin to turn against each other, yet love may bloom among the betrayals.  We learn more about the fabled Jack, are introduced to heroes of Lilliput, and have quite a surprise at the ending for a couple of my favorite characters that keeps me coming back for more.

Please Note:  This graphic novel is meant for older eyes.  Though one would expect violence from a story that includes war and the exile of a people, this edition does contain more graphic violence and sex than the first two.

For those of you who have read this one, do you consider the little surprise at the end good or bad (spoiler-free please)?
