Throughout the week, I have been Writing About Reading. The hosts over at SAS-SAF have provided writing prompts and questions, wanting participants to share their ideas. The exciting part is that there is a contest associated with this. Five people have been nominated. And, the prize? Well, it is 50 multicultural books donated to a school or library of our choice!! I am so excited to announce that I am one of these finalists!! Yippee!!
Just to be fair, here are the five nominees and their corresponding posts that have been nominated:
- My Cornerstone Book by Reading Countess
- Writing About Reading Day 1 by Happy Birthday Author
- Writing About Reading: Day 1 by Tif Talks Books (THAT'S ME!!)
- Writing About Reading Day 3 by YS Princess
- My Favorite Place to Read by Jen Robinson's Book Page
I would love to donate the books to a small school in my local area called A Time to Discover. It is a small progressive home daycare and preschool. The owner and primary teacher is so passionate and the excitement and learning that is seen in the children (including mine!) is amazing. She has always dreamed of starting her own school, has used her personal savings to create the fabulous classrooms and purchase all of the educational materials, and wants to someday move to a larger facility in order to bring a wonderfully loving and genuine education, full of diversity to a larger population of children! I believe that this donation would contribute to her dreams as well as the children's!! :)Please take a few moments to vote. The poll is now open and will remain open for voting until 12:00 Noon (EST) tomorrow, Saturday, March 13, 2010. Winners are announced on Monday morning!
