Readathon Time!!!

As I have said earlier, my reading time has been very limited this year so far; however, it is that time of year for me to turn it around!!  I will have a lot more time on my hands the second half of the year, and I want to start it off right with a burst in my reading.  Thank goodness I found these two upcoming readathons to get me started on the right foot!

So, here, I humbly introduce The Dog Days of Summer Readathon. A whole weekend devoted to reading. No challenges. No prizes. No cheerleading (unless you feel so inclined). Just a weekend of reading fun, fluffy, nostalgic books.

 Immediately following The Dog Days of Summer, comes a week-long readathon!!  I'm a huge fan of those 'thons that last a full week.  Here is a bit more info on this one . . .
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

 I have no specific plans for these 'thons, but to read, read, read!  When we get closer, I will post my reading list.  Until then, happy reading!!

    I'll be doing the Bout of BOoks, still unsure about the 48 hour one, I usually do terrible on those... lol.

      Kristen ... I usually do better with the week-long events, so if the shorter ones doesn't go as well, I will consider a warm-up for the longer one!! :)

    Yay for readathons. I'm just about as addicted to readathons as I am to reading challenges! I'm doing the Beat the Heat readathon (2 week event), ARC August (all month) and then Bout of Books! I do better at the longer events too since I gotta squeeze in reading amidst my full-time job of being a mom, cook, maid and chaffeur :) I've been doing better though sneaking audiobook time in the car or when I'm cleaning and reading time once kids are in bed.

      Tanya @ Mom's Small Victories ... Wow!! That's a lot of readathons!! I had not even heard of the other two! I'm really hoping to get back into listening to audiobooks this year. I've missed them!!

    I'm doing Bout of Books (as you already know). I don't know how productive it will be due to that pesky real life thing... which I have a feeling will interrupt 8.0 much more than it did 7.0 back in May.
