ON READING

Progress this week!  I finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and started Gilead by Marilynne Robinson.  However, this is really not the most exciting news in the reading front this week.  The real reading news is all about reading with my son.  This week, we finished reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and started reading The Hobbit!  I am so excited that I can share some of my favorite books with my children!

This week also marks the Thankfully Reading Weekend 2012, running November 22-25. I am really looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend filled with lots of reading.  I still haven't decided exactly what I plan on reading, but I do have a stack of graphic novels I would like to get to!  Maybe I will just concentrate on those?!?  I will post more about this later this week, so be watching for it!

ON WRITING

Writing this week has not been bad!  I was able to write 5 of the 7 days this past week, including journaling and blog writing.  I have a number of posts scheduled and even wrote a couple of reviews.  With some time off this week from work, I'm hoping for even more to come from Sit Down and Write 2!

ON LIFE

This week, sickness hit my household pulling both of my kids from school ... one for a couple of days and the other the entire week!  It is taking everything I have to fight the darn cold myself these days and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get it as bad as my son did.  I want to be feeling good for my long weekend!!

I am excited for Thanksgiving this year!  It will just be our little family again, but I absolutely love that!  It will be fun to eat some good food, spend some time with my husband and kids, and just relax ... all of which I plan to do a lot of this week!!  Maybe we will even hit the theaters?!?!

How does your Thanksgiving week look for you?  Will you be reading and relaxing or shopping and out having fun?

  1. We are about to enter summer, so the cold seems very far away. But I feel for you with illness waiting to strike!

I'm just thrilled your son is enjoying the favourites you read with him, Tif. There really is nothing quite like sharing a beloved book with someone else.

    1. The Book Chook ... So good to see you here! I'm a little jealous that you are entering summer, and thinking I need to head to your neck of the woods when it starts getting cold here!

And, reading my favorites with my son is ALMOST like discovering the book again for the first time on my own. Love it!

  2. Fun Thanksgiving! Glad you had one too. I did nicely my first writing week and then life happened. Normally Thanksgiving weekend, we don't do much. This year, we were busy.

    1. Amateur Novelist ... So glad to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving, though it was busy!! This time of year seems crazier than usual this year, so I'm not getting much done these days!! :)
