It's okay, you don't have to like every book... I do feel bad when I don't like a book that everyone else seems to (that review's forthcoming), but reading is your experience, so you shouldn't apologize for it.

Well, you made it through the book which is more than I can say. I believe I only read one or two chapters and just felt that it was too dark and depressing for me. I also thought the blurb was promising but the story brought me down so low right from the start that there was no impetus for me to continue.

I'm glad to finally hear what you thought of this book but I'm sorry to have passed on something that you didn't love!

Tif, I admire your courage in writing an honest review when you haven't enjoyed a book. I too have read books where it is difficult to pinpoint what exactly it is that makes a book not work for me. Sometimes, a writer does everything technically okay, but you and the book just don't match. For whatever reason.
