Books are being challenged on a regular basis and that is the point! Books are a form of speech (though in written form) and when that threat exists, it interferes with our first amendment right. I thank you for your thoughts, but still stand by my opinions on this one!!Tif Sweeneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06015299390676538748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450516531437589191.post-64029141246935086672009-09-11T15:30:15.801-06:002009-09-11T15:30:15.801-06:00J.C. . . . thank you for the update!! There is often much worse happening back there than what you can find in many of these banned books!! And, to be honest, when it comes to controversy around a book, it makes me want to read it more. Kind of defeats their purpose!! :)Tif Sweeneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06015299390676538748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450516531437589191.post-66548993661821187582009-09-07T15:20:31.648-06:002009-09-07T15:20:31.648-06:00This sounds like a great challenge. I was very disappointed in my home town when they tried to ban Catcher in the Rye from the school reading list. My favorite part was the people who wanted to ban it had only flipped through the book (had not read it) and had noticed swear words in it. I always wanted to tell them to sit on the back of the bus if they thought that was bad! :-)Laura's Reviewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13904763940307902364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450516531437589191.post-80228759861859426802009-09-07T14:05:30.463-06:002009-09-07T14:05:30.463-06:00I'm so sorry you had an issue with Mr. Linky.
