Bite Somebody by Sara Dobie Bauer

Let's talk about your typical vampires.  They are known for being sleek, fast, strong, chiseled, and gorgeous.  They tend to be risk-takers and money-makers.  Who wouldn't want all that and the opportunity to be immortal?!

When Danny offered Celia a chance to be all that a vampire is known for, Celia expected to become the stereotype.  However, she was left the same as she was when mortal:  awkward, broke, and alone.  She found herself working nights at a gas station, drinking blood from hospital bags.  Thankfully, Danny left her with a connection to a vampire therapist before skipping town.  After months of living her new life, things begin to look up.  Celia meets an unlikely vampire friend, and a sexy man with an amazing scent moves in next door.

Bite Somebody is a fun and thrilling read.  The author, Sara Dobie Bauer takes a different twist on the traditional vampire tale.  She takes a risk, all while referencing some classic and modern vampire literature along the way, and creates a story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.  It has action, romance, risky behaviors, vampires, and surprises.  It had characters that you can relate to, that you may want to aspire to be, and ones that you will desire.  Oh, and some really bad vamps as well to balance out the good.  I read through the book far too quickly, but will definitely be adding this book to the re-read pile, a perfect chance to revisit before the potential sequel!

Thanks to Sara Dobie Bauer for a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  And, in case you missed it, check out this fun interview with Sara that I shared earlier.  It is well worth your time, and the author has a question for all of you to answer at the end!

Have you had the opportunity to meet Celia in Bite Somebody?  Who are some of your personal favorite vampire characters?
