BOOK TALK: April 2016 in Review


Back again for a little catching up!  April proved to be a challenge for me on multiple levels.  It was the last full month of my class and I had a lot of work to wrap that up.  My sick grandmother was in and out of the emergency room and hospital on three different occasions.  And, I had my usual responsibilities of working full-time and tending to my kids and their many activities.  Somehow, I ended up having a better reading month than expected, probably because of the readathons I participated in.  On the blogging front, not so much.  Something had to give, and blogging is where the cut happened to be.  Either way, I still can write a quick wrap-up post for the purpose of the stats.  Enjoy!

The TOP POST for the month was a tie:  Spring 2016 Dewey's 24-Hour Readathon received the most hits and Readathon Wrap-ups tied in the number of comments, while also having the most hits.

The TOP PIC was none other than my stack of readathon books!


My list of BOOKS READ was a whopping five books!

  1. The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie
  2. Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama
  3. The Truth About Stories by Thomas King
  4. The King of Plagues by Jonathan Maberry
  5. Road Rage by Richard Matheson, Stephen King, & Joe Hill

Trying to narrow down my FAVORITE READ was a very difficult decision during the month of April.  I read so many good things!  So, instead of choosing just one I'm going to choose two.  The one that was on a more serious note was The Truth about Stories by Thomas King and the one that I love to read for pure entertainment purposes was The King of Plagues, the third book in the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry.

Today is the final day of May, so I will be back soon to wrap it up and finally be caught up on these posts.  Next up will be some serious book chatter about all these books I've read and haven't had the chance to chat about.

    I'm behind on my Goodreads challenge and was hoping to join the readathon to catch up. Alas, that didn't happen so I'm woefully still behind. I'm impressed that you're so busy but still managed to read so much!

      Jenny ... I'm still not sure how I was able to read so much, but I will take it! School's almost out here, so I'm hoping I can play some major catch-up on my reading.
