Bout of Books 15

I'm jumping in for another Bout of Books!!  For those not familiar with this week-long readathon, let me share what the organizers have to say about it . . .
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 4th and runs through Sunday, January 10th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 15 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

I do not have any specific goals, except to read as much as possible and get 2016 off on the right foot, filled with lots of good books.

My first read of the year is Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple.  And, I will be starting my first audio of the year with Road Rage, two novellas featuring works of Richard Matheson, Stephen King, and Joe Hill.  After that, I will be pulling from the January TBR pile pictured below.  These are only my print books that I hope to get to sooner rather than later, and does not include my audiobook selections or the books that I need to read for my Indigenous Lit class I will be starting in a little over a week.

Also not pictured is the book that I am currently reading with my children, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.  I will hopefully get in a good number of chapters with them as we are working to spend more time reading together in the new year.

I will be posting updates on Twitter and Instagram throughout the week.  I will post my wrap-up here on the blog next week after the conclusion of the event.

Will you be participating in Bout of Books?  What are your plans and/or goals?

  1. I'm participating too! I've only got one book as my shelves are all packed away for my move later this month & my iPad with a few ebooks. I love the cover of Bernadette. it's on my TBR for 2016. Have a good week!
