Monday Maunder: Currently (4)

Time:  8:37 PM MST

The Scene:  Sitting in my big chair, listening to a little football in the background.

Drinking:  7UP.

Reading:  I had an unexpected day off today because one of my kids was sent home from school sick.  I should have been working on so many other things, but instead I decided to read for enjoyment.  I have not done this in so long and it felt soooooo good.  I finished The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty today.  I am back to reading Around the Writer's Block by Roseanne Bane, am listening to Christine by Stephen King, and finally picked back up Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan with my kids.  I have another handful of books that I'm working on, but the only other one of note is The Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill.  I hope to dive into that one in the next couple of days before Father & Son Month of Frights ends.

Writing:  I'm writing.  I wanted to be writing for NaNoWriMo, but I have not yet found myself starting that new project yet.  Instead, I am writing the final papers due for my class, which have been so time consuming.  I have also found myself blogging (more below).  My final paper is due at the end of this week, so after that I hope that my focus will shift to getting regular posts back here on the blog and writing on my new NaNo project that I can't stop thinking about.  Either way, I am keeping track of all my words written, no matter where they may be.  I am doing this for NaNo, but I am also doing it for Sit Down and Write 7 hosted by the fabulous Michelle at Stories Inside.  I am going to try to post a check-in sometime next week, complete with current numbers, so be watching for it.

Blogging:  It has been slow, but I know that it is going to be picking up.  I have also been blogging over at Book Bloggers International.  I have been running a themed month of FEATURED FAVORITES, and there have already been some fun things running over there.  If you are interested in joining in the fun by sharing one of your own favorites, let me know.  We still have spots available!!

Watching:  I have been making time to watch a few favorite shows, but I am not caught up on all of them yet.  THE WALKING DEAD is the one that I do tend to watch on a regular basis though!  I am not as excited about this season so far as I have been with other seasons, but I still watch ... and yes, I also have opinions on the whole Glenn situation!  The other shows that I am watching, but not quite caught up on are HEROES REBORN and GRIMM.  I am really enjoying both!
Promoting:  I already mentioned it above, but I'm mentioning it here again ... FEATURED FAVORITES over at Book Bloggers International!

Listening:  I am mostly listening to my audiobooks (no surprise there)!  But, I am going to leave you with a song that has become a little popular in our household lately.  It's one that is frequently stuck in my head, and one that my children are trying to teach me to dance every single time it plays.  Please send help!

What is currently going on with you ... reading, writing, watching, listening, promoting, or all of the above?

  1. It's okay that you took time to read! I think we all need breaks to just relax and sink in to a good book. You'll get that paper written! It's been a fun month so far at BBI! I never used to watch The Walking Dead but I am caught up through last season thanks to Netflix. I used to hate zombies. Who knew I'd get into TWD? Not me!!

  2. Your impromptu day off, while sucks that one of your kids was sick, does sound luxurious and perfect. I think we all need those days every once in a while. I hope everyone is on the mend!

    1. Michelle ... Thanks! Unfortunately, both my husband and I are now feeling sick! :( I hope it is short-lived!! I'm not regretting that day of reading at all though. And, I'm still procrastinating this paper that is due tomorrow! :)
