Monday Maunder: May 2015 in Review

Can you believe it is already June?!?  This year is flying by so fast, and I feel like I am just hanging on for the ride sometimes!

With another month come and gone, it is time to look at the usual statistics and highlights from the month.  Without further ado, I give you May 2015 . . .

My TOP POST for the month was Monday Maunder:  Bout of Books 13 according to the number of hits.  According to the number of comments though, it was a three-way tie for Bout of Books 13, April 2015 in Review, and A Little Getaway ... all Monday Maunder posts.  Overall, I saw my numbers down during the month, but I believe that it was because I did not consistently post throughout the month or visit blogs that I usually do.  I'm hoping that will change on both fronts in June.

The TOP PIC from the month was this little gem -- a pic from my little getaway that I linked above.  This not-so-little bookstore boasts to be the largest independent bookstore in the state of Montana.  I will definitely make this a must-stop next time I am close by!

As for my list of BOOKS READ for the month, I had a decent month with a total of eight books.  Many of them were short books, so really it makes it look like I read more than I usually do.  I think it was the exact opposite, but I will take it!

  1. The Creature from the Closet #2:  Potterwookie by Obert Skye
  2. The Creature from the Closet #3:  Pinocula by Obert Skye
  3. The Creature from the Closet #4:  Katfish by Obert Skye
  4. Worthy by Catherine Ryan Hyde
  5. Fables #19:  Snow White by Bill Willingham
  6. Fables #20:  Camelot by Bill Willingham
  7. Ms. Marvel #2:  Generation Why by G. Willow Wilson
  8. The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
Of all these books, I have a hard time picking just one FAVORITE READ.  I think this month, I would have to narrow it down to two graphic novels:  Fables #19:  Snow White and Ms. Marvel #2:  Generation Why.

I am beginning the month of June with hopefully finishing up The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd this evening, while listening to The Secret History of Wonder Woman by Jill Lepore.  I have been trying to listen to Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry, but it keeps expiring on me before I finish it and now I'm on the hold list.  Hopefully, I can get that back this month because that one is good so far!  Oh, and I am still reading The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan with my kids.  I'm also hoping to finish that one up soon too.  Here's to another great month of reading!

How was your May in reading?  What are you currently reading these days?

  1. I can't believe that it's June already! How did that happen? I did a little better reading-wise in May, but am so far behind with my yearly reading goal that I'm thinking about reducing my goal. Here's to a great, productive summer!

    1. Alexia561 ... Now that it is June, we are almost half-way through the year. I cannot believe it at all! Good luck with your reading! I would say just leave your goal as is. If you meet it, great. If not, there is always next year! ;)

  2. I've been worried about my numbers for a few months - they weren't *bad* but they werent where I expected them to be. Turns out that after wordpress switched to https google could no longer see me. A rework in google webmaster tools, forcing a recrawl in google has put me back closer where i was expecting to be.

Has made me look at my twitter interactions too, and that has picked up. All at a time my reading has dried up! haha!

    1. nordie ... That is so interesting! Maybe I should look at a few things behind the scenes as well. I'm hoping this month will show me some better reading, better posting, and better numbers no matter what though!
