Monday Maunder: Checking In and Bringing Changes

Wow!  Did you see my last Monday Maunder?  Last week was a rough week!  I started my new job.  It was the first full week of school for my kids.  And, we had evening plans four of the nights, from kids' activities and meetings and hanging out with some old friends.  On top of that, my son got sick and he was so kind to share his germs with me.  UGH!

As I am trying to adjust to my new schedule, I am coming to realize that I need to make some changes for here on the blog as well.  I'm still trying to figure out my schedule, find time for writing, and catch up on a little sleep from having to get up so early these days.  Oh, and tackle that inbox.  My email has exploded!

I am still going to try to post 3-4 times per week.  You can always rely on my ramblings on Mondays.  After this week, I am debating the addition of Wordless Wednesday, something that I thoroughly enjoy on many blogs.  And, of course, at least one review a week.  As time permits, I will throw out an additional review or a discussion post or whatever I feel like writing at the time.  Thankfully, Bloggiesta is coming up and I can work out these details this weekend while I work on cleaning up the blog.  (More details and goals coming in a few days!)

In the meantime, I can tell you that I will STILL be reading Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  This one is taking me much longer than expected to finish.  I will also be continuing with my audiobook Sisterland by Curtis Sittenfeld.  Though I will admit that I started and finished Ghosting by Edith Pattou yesterday.  A review of that one will be coming later this week.  Guaranteed.  It is part of a blog tour.

That's all for this week.  Now it's your turn.

How was your week?  What have you been reading lately?  Are you planning on Bloggiesta this weekend?

  1. I feel you! I've been swamped for two weeks and this week isn't looking much better. I haven't done my Monday Reading Life post for two weeks running now. I'm hoping I won't have to do any work over the weekend so I can really did in to Bloggiesta.

Congrats on the new job, but sorry things are so hectic...and that you and kiddo have been sick. Hope you feel better quick. Gabe started feeling bad on Friday and thank goodness I didn't get it. I just cannot be sick right now!

    1. Michelle Miller ... I am so glad that I am not alone in these struggles these days! Ugh! I can't believe how hard it is hitting me this time around. Tonight I am finally feeling hope as I catch up on the exploding email. I might be able to figure all this out yet! :)

  3. Really does sound like a hectic-as-heck sort of week you had! Hope this one slows down a bit as you get settled into your new job and the kiddos get settled into school! Seems like it should settle down, right? But we all know that's not necessarily the case. :p

  4. Busy here too!! It's my busiest month at work, and I'm also scrambling to write 1000 words every day. Everything is hectic, hectic, and I am falling behind on the blogging. Luckily the blogging community is a very forgiving one. :)

  5. Tif, I totally feel for you! It's already way past that week you had, but I hope things turned out well! I'm feeling the overwhelming weight I knew I'd feel in launching my blogs and hope I can catch up and get organized with them so I don't feel that anymore. I think we try to fit way too much in, some because we have to, some because we feel obligated, some because we want to, but overall, we stretch ourselves too thin. It's all about balance and that can be hard to achieve *sigh* I hope the new job is going well and that everyone's all better by now :)

    1. writersideup.com ... Thank you so much! I relate so much to balance. I've done this crazy act before, but am having a more difficult time adjusting this time around. Maybe because I'm older and simply just don't have as much energy as I used to?!?!
