Monday Maunder: Bout of Books Time!

It's time for another readathon, but before I get to those details I want to share my reading from the last week.

Books Finished
Sookie Stackhouse #1:  Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
Batman:  Lil' Gotham #1 by Derek Fridolfs
Batman:  Year One by Frank Miller

Currently Reading
Batman:  The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker (audio)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (with my kids)

Okay, now on to the readathon news . . .

This week is Bout of Books 10, a readathon that runs the entire week.  Here's a little more info courtesy of the Bout of Books team . . .
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

So, what will I be reading?!?  This stack is my current plan of attack:

I hope to complete this full stack mainly for the reason that many of them are library books and the due date is quickly approaching.  However, to be specific and probably more realistic, here are the goals that I am shooting for during the week . . .
  1. Listen to at least 6 hours of my audiobook.
  2. Read a minimum of 600 pages.
  3. Participate in at least two online chats. (I'm shooting for one Twitter party and one Google+ on-air chat.)
Now, it's time to read!!  If you are not already participating, you can find the sign up post here and the goals link-up here.

Are you participating in Bout of Books?  What are your reads and goals for the week?

  1. I'm not participating in Bout of Books, because I work this Saturday and I'm horrible at reading during the week. I just can't get into a rhythm. Thankful for a three-day weekend coming up on Memorial Day. As for your reading, I like Frank Miller's take on Batman, from what I remember. My brother-in-law is a huge comic book geek and he loves Miller too.

    1. Bryan G. Robinson ... Of the Batman books I have finished, Miller's is my favorite so far. I've got a couple of others though that I'm working on to see how they go. I've never read the traditional superhero comics before, so this is all new to me!

  2. Great book choices for this! I'll be curious to see what you think of The Runaways. Once I finished the first main story arc I lost interest.

  3. I might start Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with my kids soon (if they request it). We finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone a few months ago and decided to take a break from the series to start Anne of Green Gables. My twins like Harry Potter, but not as much as I was hoping they would. We'll see if they request The Chamber of Secrets!

    1. misfortuneofknowing ... My daughter is not as excited about HP as I was hoping for. My son is reading the third one on his own right now, and that excitement I was looking for just hit and hit hard. He wants to talk to me about where is at ALL THE TIME!! Makes me one proud momma!! :)
