Dewey's Readathon: April 2014
Tomorrow morning kicks off another round of Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon, and I have decided to participate once again! This means reading as much as possible starting bright and early tomorrow morning and reading as long into the night as I possibly can.
I can tell you now that I will NOT be participating for the full 24 hours. I now have two activities that are now on my calendar for my big day of reading that will interrupt my book time a little bit. Outside of these two activities, I will read as much as possible and only time will tell how long into the night that I will be able to make it. Overall, I would like to shoot for a total of about 6-8 hours for the day. The evening hours tend to be better reading time for me, so I'm hoping that tomorrow is no different.
Here is the stack of books that I will likely be choosing from (though I do reserve the right to choose a different book off my shelf if my mood sways away from these) . . .
I will be posting updates via Twitter and Instagram throughout the day tomorrow. I may try to participate in a couple of the hourly challenges for the first time, but we will see how the day goes. I will share all my final details and statistics in my weekly Monday post to allow plenty of recovery time.
For all details regarding the readathon, visit the official Dewey's Readathon website.
Are you participating in the readathon this time around? What book are you the most excited to read? How many hours are you shooting for in the books tomorrow?

Yay! J & I are going to try to go on a date tomorrow night so I won't be participating the full time either.
ReplyDeleteBecca Lostinbooks ... I actually think a break can help me keep going longer! It's a good motivator and refresher!!
DeleteThis will be my first Read-a-Thon! (Or at least, my first 24-hour readathon!) I plan to spend a good chunk of it at the library, distraction-free. But then I've got a movie/Twitter-party tomorrow night and I don't know if I'll get back to reading after or just go to bed. Either way, should be a fun day!
ReplyDeleteCharleen Lynette ... Yay!! I'm so excited and hope it goes well for you!! Good luck!!
DeleteThis is my first one, so I'm looking forward to everything about it. I've done different kind of challenges before but not a 24 hour one. I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to reading most, I keep changing my mind if I want to go shorter, or what I wanna read no matter what the length. I do plan on staying up the full 24 hours, checking out the challenges, following others blogs (like when I added you to my Bloglovin' earlier today) and of course ~ reading tons. Enjoy your reading time!!
ReplyDeleteKarsyn Smith ... Thanks for the follow and good luck with your first readathon!! My first one really did not go so well, so I consider every subsequent one to be improvement!! I look forward to hearing how your's goes!! Good luck!!
DeleteI'm going to just do as much as I can with waking up a few hours late, getting a house painting estimate in the afternoon and, well, you know, parenting. I haven't set an hours target -- maybe 12? We'll see! Have a great readathon! I'll, of course, see you around everywhere. :)
ReplyDeleteKristen M. ... I am so excited because my husband will be around most of the time when I will be reading today. I'm hoping he will take on most of the parenting duties for me today, though I know it won't work completely. My daughter is a total mama's girl!! Good luck today and I will definitely see you around! :)
DeleteOww Hugo Cabret. Read that one during the read-a-thon too it is a great book. Have fun with your reading!!
ReplyDeleteCiska van der Lans ... I'm really thinking that one will definitely be one of my priorities today, probably for the afternoon/evening read. It's too big to cart around with me during the earlier activities!
DeleteLove your stack Tif! Hope you get to put in some good reading time tonight! I'm starting my reading now & hoping for a good long uninterrupted day! :)
ReplyDeleteJenna ... Good luck on your reading too! I'm starting my day with a few household items, and now blog commenting for a bit. My "real" reading will begin after I get my first activity with my daughter out of the way.
DeleteHope you're enjoying your reading! Have a fabulous RAT!
