Monday Maunder: Reading Updates

It's Monday again, and I really don't have much to report this week.  Therefore, I will just stick with a few of my reading updates.

I finished reading The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins for Wilkie in Winter.  Overall, I enjoyed it and should have a review of it posted in the near future.

I also finished reading Runaways #1:  Pride and Joy by Brian K. Vaughan.  This review should also be coming very soon.

I am currently in the middle of The Unwritten #6:  Tommy Taylor and the War of Words by Mike Carey.

After that, I plan to pick up one of those series books that I talked about last week.  I am currently debating between finishing a series with Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare or Inheritance by Christopher Paolini OR reading an entire series at once, beginning with a re-read of Inkheart by Cornelia Funke.  I just cannot decide which one to pick up first!

What are you currently reading?  What series book do you think I should pick up next?

  1. I think I am the only one I know who didn't care for The Woman in White. :(

    2. I finished The Woman in White, too. Overall I liked it and am happy to have finally read it, but it was a chore at times.

    3. Chris Wolak ... I agree!! It's so interesting how some of these chunksters evoke reactions from us. The Count of Monte Cristo never seemed like a chore at all those pages, but this one did at times.

  2. I have not started the Clockwork Princess books and have been wanting to forever. The other two series I have read and finished and loved. The Paolini books get very long and very detailed but are nevertheless very amazing. The Inkheart books I loved the first two, but the last one kind of lost me if I remember right. Sadness.

    1. Suey ... I definitely recommend the Clockwork Princess books! I've read the first two and really enjoyed them. I also have really enjoyed the first three of Paolini's series. I think I will end up going with one of those two to finish out the series and have some closure on those stories!

  3. Can't help you with the series, as I've only read Inkheart. I remember that I enjoyed it, but never picked up the rest of the series for some reason. I have a Mike Carey book in my TBR pile, but haven't gotten to it yet. How do you like the one you're reading?

    1. Alexia561 ... I like it, but it is complicated! Which book is on your TBR?

    2. It's called Dead Men's Boots. I think I must have won it in a contest or something, as it just showed up in my mailbox one day. *L*

    3. Alexia561 ... I haven't heard of that one, so I will have to check it out! Don't you just love surprises?!? :)

  4. February has been a bad month for reading for me. I'm just stuck...but that happens. I see everyone (almost everyone I know) reading graphic novels, but I can't seem to go there for some reason -- even after my brother-in-law gave me a couple of boxes of them. I can't seem to get on board with them for some reason, but I want to.

    1. Bryan G. Robinson ... It took me a while to really get into graphic novels. I actually have a post coming up where I touch on that briefly in the next couple of weeks. I really think you have to find the right one to begin with before they really grab you. And, sometimes, they are just not for everyone.
