Happy New Year!!
The year 2013 has come to an end and it is time to tally the totals for my reads throughout the year. I was shooting for a total of 75 books for the year. Sadly, I fell a little short with a total of 71. These 71 books resulted in a total of 19,429 pages according to my Goodreads statistics. In the end, this is actually the most books and pages that I have read since I have started keeping track of my yearly totals! So, despite the fact that I did not meet my goal, I still consider my reading for the year a great success!
I chose not to participate in a lot of challenges this year. The exceptions were the Goodreads Challenge, Readers Imbibing Peril VIII, and the Sherlock Holmes Challenge. I just discussed the Goodreads Challenge results above and have already previously reported on RIP VIII here. As for the Sherlock Holmes Challenge, I have successfully completed that one as of last night, finishing The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes! I will be reviewing it in the near future, but I really have enjoyed Doyle's tales and cannot wait to read more!
I leave you with my final list of books read in 2013. For those that I have reviewed at the time of this posting, those titles have been linked to my review and discussion. You can expect my list of favorites of the year later this week!

How was your reading for 2013? Did you meet your reading goals?
You did well!! Out of all my years of blogging, I think six now, this was my lowest year but I am totally okay with it. I set a goal for 60 for next year, but only because it seemed like a nice round number.
ReplyDeleteTi ... Thank you! I have come to discover that life tends to take over my reading goals. Sometimes it's for the good and other times it's not. I've learned to go with the flow, and making my reading goal is just an added bonus! :)
DeleteNot too shabby at all, especially when there are some great books on this list.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy new year!
Michelle S ... Thanks! I hope you have a wonderful new year as well!
DeleteI managed 103 books in the end against my challenge of 100, though many of those where short romances during the holiday period.
ReplyDeleteThis year I have set a challenge of 75 - not that I think I cant repeat this year but because I want to balance reading off with other things.
nordie ... Great job! You even exceeded your goal!! If you discover that balance, let me know your secret! That's something I am always struggling with!
