Happy November!

ON READING

It was another rather slow reading week!  Here's a quick rundown of the stats this week . . .

Books Read:  Fables #16:  Super Team and Fables #17:  Inherit the Wind by Bill Willingham

Currently Reading:  The Obituary Writer by Ann Hood and I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak (audiobook turned ebook because it expired) and The Lemonade Wars by Jacqueline Davies (with my kids)

According to my Goodreads Challenge, I am currently 13 books behind schedule to finish my goal of 75 books.  I really don't think that I will reach that goal this year, but I'm going to keep on trucking and see how close I can actually get.  I think if I keep on reading a graphic novel or two a week in addition to my usual reading, then I may just get close.  Either way, I will beat my total number of books read last year.  I read 55 total and I am currently at 50 for this year.

How is your reading going for the year?  Will you make your goal of total books read?  Or, do you prefer not to keep track?

ON BLOGGING

I have been working hard to get caught up on my reviews.  I am almost there!!  I currently have six that I need to get scheduled.  I also need to write three more reviews and one discussion post.  I hope to get this all caught up today actually, so I can focus on my other writing.  Time to buckle down and get focused!

How is blogging going for you?

ON WRITING

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) kicked off on Friday last week.  I vowed to participate this year, though I am getting a little late start.  I even recently wrote about my thoughts, feelings, and anxieties over at Walrus Publishing about my vow to participate.  Today is my day to finally get some words down on paper and start my word count.  Every week this month, I will share with you details of how my journey towards my first novel is going.  I will share general thoughts as well as a breakdown on my stats that will look a bit like this . . .

Weekly Word Count:  0
Total Word Count:  0
Days Spent Writing This Week:  0
Days Spent Writing Total:  0

(Obviously, all will be zero at this time, but there will be numbers there next week!)

Is there anything else that I should be including here?  Do you desire me to report on anything else?

ON LIFE

We had a great week celebrating Halloween!  I was in complete shock when the kids received the usual candy at one home as well as a warm cup of hot chocolate, complete with peppermint-flavored marshmallows and a small toy!  Seriously, how crazy is that?!?

I also decided to participate in some photo challenges again this month, both #estellagram and #fmsphotoaday.  Who knows if I will make it the whole month, especially with both of them, but I hope to have some fun doing it.  Feel free to follow along via Instagram or Tumblr where I post my pictures.  (Please Note:  All these pictures are taken using my phone.)

The final bit of big news is my daughter lost her first tooth over the weekend!  It is a bit bittersweet.  My girl was so excited and I was excited for her.  Then I think ... this is the last first tooth lost!  These kids are growing up way too fast and I really need to figure out how to slow this process down!

How was your Halloween?  Any big news you want to share?  Do you have any plans for November?
