ON READING

This last week resulted in some pretty good reading time!  I finished Starbounders by Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson as well as 1001 Nights of Snowfall by Bill Willingham.  Then came the Dog Days of Summer Readathon!  I finished Fables Volume 9:  Sons of Empire and made it about 3/4 of the way through Watchmen by Alan Moore.  I was hoping to get more reading in over the weekend for the readathon, but I'm happy overall with the week's reading!

Today began the start of my next readathon, Bout of Books.  A lot of stuff resulted in little reading time today, so my plan from here is to finish Watchmen and then hit the rest of my readathon stack that I posted about last week.  I anticipate the latter part of the week to have more success in my reading stats, but will keep you posted through a halfway check-in here on the blog as well as online through Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr.

How is your readathon reading going?  If you are not participating, what is your current read?

ON BLOGGING

My blogging is finally picking back up and I hope to be posting 3-4 times a week now on a regular basis.  I still have a number of reviews that are written that I need to get typed up and scheduled.  I will try to get to these a bit at a time this week, but my focus will remain on the reading because of the readathons mentioned above.  If you have any preferences for upcoming reviews to be posted sooner rather than later, let me know!  Simply take a peek at Books Read in 2013 tab and peruse the list.  Most of the books will be reviewed (though not all) and I will try to link up reviews and books read on a weekly basis.

Do you have a request for upcoming reviews?

ON WRITING

As mentioned above, this week has been devoted to reading.  Next week, this focus will change and my official writing schedule will be implemented and tested!!  I will post more about this next week, but I will tell you that this time next week, I will be participating in a write-a-thon to kick off my new writing life!  Later this week, I will share my specific goals attached to this thon, but I have to get a bit more organized first!

Wanna join me for a write-a-thon?

ON LIFE

School starts this week!!!  We were supposed to meet the teachers today, but only one child got to make that happen.  The other one had to stay home because she was vomiting all morning.  She already seems to be feeling better and thankfully, I have been able to arrange an alternate time to meet her teacher before classes start on Wednesday.  Both kids are very excited, but also a bit nervous.  And, so is this mom!!!!  The extra-curriculars have also been taken care of and the only big item I have left to take care of is updating my dog's license and shots.  Almost there . . .  and then, this girl is going to be happy to be back into a routine again!!

Are you looking forward to a routine of school again?  Or, are you dreading the routine associated with school?

  1. My blogging will slow down as soon as the 26th gets here. When I'm working on my novel, I'm not blogging as much or so previous experience has shown. I'd love to find balance in all I do, but I'm the most unbalanced person I know. ;)

  3. What do you think of Watchmen? I read it a few years back and it was not at all what I expected, but I really liked it! I'm loving these read-a-thons - so much fun. =)
