ON READING

Reading has been slow this week as I prepare to catch up on review writing before the upcoming readathons that I signed up for.  (Did you see which readathons I signed up for?  If not, you can check them out here!)  I did finish Haunted Montana by Karen Stevens, and started a rare review book, Starbounders by Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson.  If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I do not accept review requests very often, but I cannot say no to these two authors!  Whether it is guest posts or their books, I always tend to enjoy them.  So far, this book is no exception!!  I should finish it soon, and am not sure which book I will be picking up next . . .

I do have some scheduled reading coming up ... The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot for a closed online book group that I'm a part of and The Shining by Stephen King for the awesome read-along that I am co-hosting with Cheap Thrills.  I may pick up one of these books next or I may go with one of the books that is currently sitting on my shelf or my library pile.  I have yet to decide!

Any opinions on what should be my next read?  What is on your reading list this week?

ON BLOGGING

I shared FIVE posts with you all this week!  That is the most I have posted in months!!  Isn't that exciting?!?  And, the good news is that I have spent a great part of the weekend catching up on reviews to get scheduled in the weeks to come.  It is time to get caught up, not only to get prepared for the upcoming readathons, but also to get prepared for back-to-school when I will be spending a LOT more time writing!  I am really excited about this new change in my life and to see where it may take me.  I will keep you updated as I go, both the bad and the good!

What do you have going on in your blogging/writing world these days?

ON WRITING

See On Blogging!  I combined them this week!

ON LIFE

A crazy busy, productive week!  My kids are officially registered with their new school.  I'm still working on the extracurricular activities because many are not affiliated with the district like at their previous school.  All my pictures have been hung and I can finally say that unpacking is complete.  My to-do list shrunk a lot this last week.  And, today I celebrated 13 years of marriage with my husband!  I consider all this a success!  Keeping my fingers crossed that this week is just as successful as last week!

What have been your successes this week?

  1. I "think" I mentioned the books I'm reading. It's the same from last week...I think. First book (not audio book) is "A World I Never Made" by James LePore. The second is "Insatiable Desire" (Book #1/Demonborn series) by Rita Herron and I just finished Men in My Town by Keith Smith. My current audio is Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning--last MacKayla Lane book. The audio book before that is a series I'm hooked on, the Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill. Geez Louise, it's good!

    1. J. Kaye Oldner ... A lot of those do sound familiar, but I think there is a new one in there too! Is the LePore one a recent start?

  2. My successes? Getting out of bed, getting my kids to school on time and coming home to show up for work. LOL! I'm in that kind of state of mind this week. Very slumpy. Hope that changes soon. I am excited about some events I'm announcing for Septemeber at my Castle Macabre blog, plus Sit Down and Write 4 (is it 4...I've lost count?).

I'm so glad you're getting settled. Moving is always such a big deal, especially to different states.

I haven't forgotten about your post card. Just haven't had the gumption to take the pic with the phone and then hook up the usb cable to download it. LOL...pure laziness!

    1. Michelle Miller ... Sometimes, it is the little things that matter the most!! I have those days too, but am hoping that they are few and far between.

So excited for Sit Down & Write!!! I just finished writing all my reviews. I still need to type them up and schedule them, but this is better progressive than I've had in a long time.

No worries about the postcard. I completely understand!! Just glad to hear you got it okay!
