Monday Maunder: May 6, 2013

I'm going to keep it short this week.  I don't have a lot to report and I have a to-do list that is falling off the edge of my paper!

ON READING

I finished Y:  The Last Man - Deluxe Edition Book Five by Brian K. Vaughan this week.  This happened to be the final book in the series and I really cannot wait to chat with people about this one.  I then started Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clark after a Twitter conversation about doing a read-along for the book.  You can follow the conversation at #strangeandnorrell if you so desire.  I am not far into the book, but I am enjoying the writing so far.

What are you reading this week?

ON BLOGGING

I have nothing new to report here.  Hopefully, I will be back soon with more!

ON WRITING

As I previously mentioned, I am participating in Sit Down & Write 3 at this time.  I have not been very productive thus far, but I hope to be soon.  I will post an update late this week.

If you are participating in Sit Down & Write 3, how are you doing so far?

ON LIFE

The house still has not sold.  Friday last week was the one-year anniversary of my father's death.  It was a hard day.  I have 9 days left of work.  That's the good and the bad in a nutshell.  I'm hoping to report more good than bad next week.

How was your week in a nutshell?

  1. Tif, timing is everything, at least in my life. Michelle's write-a-thon hit at the perfect time. It's a way to clear up some things before the rough draft. Plans are to begin...uhhh, June 1st. (Had to go back to look at the date.) As soon as this event is done, I need to get the story in order, which is pretty much done, but I've given myself enough time to go over it all again, tie up loose ends, etc.

I've said this before, but I think once your job has ended, you'll be able to do so much more.

    1. Amateur Novelist ... Timing is key and so far, I'm thinking it may not be the right time for me right now. I will hopefully be posting an update later tonight, but I can tell you right now that I have yet to accomplish anything! Just a little over a week left until I'm done with this job!!

  2. Don't feel bad. My first week was anything but stellar. I just posted another check in over at the blog. I'm hoping the second week will be better.

I like what AN said above. I may need to use this last week as my clear up week and the rest of May and be ready to officially start back on the current WIP (or a new WIP...haven't decided yet) on June 1st.

    1. Michelle Miller ... I agree. I may just have to use my remaining time to just start cleaning some stuff up and organizing. Things will be getting better for me very soon, and hopefully, that will carry over into my writing as well!
