Monday Maunder: February 11, 2013

I'm keeping my maunderings a bit short this week (well, at least for me!) . . .

ON READING

I finished reading Creative Journal Writing by Stephanie Dowrick this week and then decided to pick up my next book club pick, Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman.  I'm about one-third of the way through Hoffman's book, so I anticipate starting something new before the end of the week.  Once again, I'm not sure which one will come next, but I will definitely keep you all posted.  Maybe next week I will do a vote for an upcoming read to change things up a bit?!?

What are you currently reading this week?  Would you be interested in voting for my next read?

ON BLOGGING

On the blog this last week, I posted a guest article titled Controversial Children's Books by Maria L. Hughes as well as a review of The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling.  If you haven't had a chance to check these out, I encourage you to do so.  These were #2 and #3, respectively this past week in number of hits.  The #1 post of the week is an oldie, but goodie ... a review of Narwhal:  Unicorn of the Sea by Janet Halfmann written all the way back in 2009.  If you have ever wondered if your archived information is still seen, I think this can answer your question with a yes!!

What are the must-see posts around the web for you this week?

ON WRITING

The only writing I did this week was a bit of journaling and a couple of reviews.  That's it!

Did you get any writing done this week?

ON LIFE

The biggest news of the week comes in this category!  I submitted my last day of work this past week.  It came with a lot of mixed emotions ... sadness knowing that this move is now just around the corner, yet excitement for what is to come in the next year.  My last day will be May 17, so you can expect me to be counting down the days every so often around here!!

Any big news from you this week?  What is going on in your neck of the woods?

  1. Practical Magic is one of my favorite movies. I hope you are enjoying the book!

I did write a short bit for the 30 Minus 2 Days Writing Challenge on my blog. Let me know what you think.

Creative Journal Writing sounds like it could be interesting, too.

    1. Becca Lostinbooks ... I hear the book is much different. I don't remember the movie much, but we are planning on chatting about the book at book club, then watching the movie. I will probably review them together!

I have your challenge post saved in my Reader! I hope to actually read it today!

  3. Haven't done much of anything these past few weeks except try to unpack. I'm bribing myself by leaving my book boxes for last. Good luck with your move! It's sad to leave work and home, but exciting to start a new adventure!
