A Week of Confusion

On Sunday, I thought it was Saturday.  On Tuesday, I thought it was Wednesday.  Today feels like Monday.  In other words, I have been so confused this week and the result has been nothing posted so far!  Instead of playing it cool and pretending like the week just never happened, I have decided to admit to my befuddlement and just post my weekly maunderings a few days late.  Let's hope that this weekend I will be able to get myself straight!  In the meantime, here is what is on the maunder menu . . .

ON READING

I read some great graphic novels this past week!  The first was the start of the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman:  Preludes and Nocturnes.  I also read Y:  The Last Man, Volume 1 - Unmanned by Brian K. Vaughn.  Both of these were pretty fun reads, though I really enjoyed the interesting plot of the latter one!  I can't wait to read more of both series though!

I am in between the pages of Abraham Lincoln:  Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith.  I need to have this one finished by Sunday for book club, so I'm hoping that this crazy time warp vertigo is cured and I can finish it before we get to discuss it!

I think I forgot to mention previously that my son and I finished Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets a couple of weeks ago and started The Hobbit!  (If I'm repeating this, just humor me and be as excited as I am!)

I have yet to decide which book will be next, so I will keep you posted next week on the upcoming choices!

ON WRITING

Writing has been horrid.  Time has been limited with kid activities, prepping for the holidays, and so much more.  I have two pieces in particular that I have to get done no later than this weekend.  And, I really need to finalize some 2012 blog items and get ready for 2013 blogging!  This is my time of year in which I re-evaluate my goals and purposes of writing here and this year is no different.  Life changes are coming in 2013 that will directly affect my writing and it is time that I start prepping and stop ignoring!!  (I don't mean to tease, but I will be chatting more about this very soon!  I promise!)

ON LIFE

Let's do bullet points here this week!  I do have a number of things to mention, but they are all a bit random and brief.

  • I have a number of giveaways that have closed with one more closing tomorrow night (Summer Breeze by Nancy Thayer).  Winners have been drawn and will be contacted within the next 24-48 hours with more information.  Be sure to be watching your email and be sure to check back next week for more giveaways to come!
  • Decorating commenced and is almost completed around here.  Family pictures were taken for the first time in three years.  Shopping for gifts have begun, but there is still more to go.  In other words, the holiday is in full swing!!
  • I have another journaling class next week that I am really excited for!
  • I have tried my hand at some hand-made yarn bookmarks for some stocking stuffers this year.  I will post some pictures next week to see what you all think!

That's it!  I'm wrapping up this very late-night, delayed ramblings about my reading, writing, and life.  With all this confusion, I'm taking the rest of the week off and I will see you all again next week on MONDAY!

Until then, tell me all about your reading, writing, and life!

  1. I know the feeling, Tif! At this point, I'm just counting down the number of school days left until I can turn off the early alarm, get caught up on sleep and hopefully get back on track with life. :)

Looking forward to seeing your handmade bookmarks! I'm just not very crafty, but it sounds like fun!

  4. Are you planning to see "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" movie or did you see it in the theater? I just watched it on DVD the other week. Loved it!

    1. Amateur Novelist ... We actually watched it on DVD during book club last weekend. I definitely liked the book better. And, I think I would have enjoyed the movie more if I had seen it prior to reading the book! There are a lot of differences!!
