Happy November!!!

ON READING

This last week was a slow reading week, so I am still in the middle of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  However, I am hoping to finish it soon (yes, I may have said that last week!) and the next books in line are Gilead by Marilynne Robinson and The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman, both of which I am reading for some online book chats.

ON WRITING

Writing was slow as well.  I didn't even get the reviews typed up that I had written last week!  However, I am hoping for a turnaround this week.  I have another stack of reviews to get written and I am really hoping to get all caught up before Sit Down and Write 2 coming up soon!  I am still working on my exact plan for this little writing challenge, but I will have it all figured out when I report in next week!

ON LIFE

I may not have gotten much reading or writing done this past week, but I did have fun!  We carved and painted pumpkins, went trick-or-treating, and had some wonderful family time together.  I think this is a price worth paying for a little less reading and writing time!  Afterall, Halloween only comes once a year!

On a completely different note, my husband and I started watching Season 2 of The Walking Dead!  I really, really love this show!!  I can't wait to see where the rest of the season goes!

Last, but not least, it has been forever since I checked in on my challenges.  Let's take a peak . . .

RIP VII:  This one ended last week with Halloween.  I was hoping to read two books, but only finished The Passage by Justin Cronin.  Don't you think that the length of that one should count as two though?!?

What's in a Name 5 Challenge:  I have completed 2 of 6 for this challenge, so I really need to be a bit more conscience of my final picks for the year!!

2012 Audiobook Challenge:  I have yet to complete one audio this year, so I am pretty much scrapping this one!

2012 Off the Shelf Challenge:  I have officially completed 15 of the 30 books for this challenge.  I have a ways to go in a short amount of time.  Maybe I will pick some of my young adult titles to make up some of the difference!

2012 Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge:  I am currently at 43 books for the year and 70 is my total goal.  I'm getting closer, but according to my Goodreads challenge in which I track this one on a regular basis, I am currently 16 books behind my goal as of today!

2012 Fairy Tale Challenge:  I have almost completed this challenge, and have no doubts that I will by year-end!  Thank goodness, since this is the one I host!  I have read 11 of my 12 book goal.

I'm off to read a bit and then head to bed.  I have to get up early tomorrow to vote!!

How are you doing on your reading for the year?  What was your highlight from the season of spooky?  Any good scary recommendations that you would like to pass along?

  1. I think with all things considering, you've done wonderful! Scary recommendations from me would be "The Dead Path" by Stephen M. Irwin. Good ending too!

As far as how I've done this year, I've sucked if you compare my reading to the last previous years, like during the book blogging era. If I get caught up with all the books for review by the end of the year, then I'll be happy. :)

Next year, I plan to read a book a week. Maybe there's a challenge for that? (lol)
