Walrus Report: Writers in the Park Workshop

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend a writing workshop courtesy of my local writers' guild, all free of charge!  It was held on a beautiful August day and a tremendous amount of information was shared.  I have procrastinated long enough and I am excited to finally share with you the links to both articles that I wrote summing up the event.  Check them out here:

Let me tease you a bit with a little sneak peek into the topics of the workshops I attended:

  • Tips on finding an agent and/or publisher.
  • A look at speculative fiction, from science fiction to fantasy and beyond.
  • Getting back to the basics of writing.
  • An author shares what he has learned after being a published author for 20 years.
Click on over and take a gander.  I would love to hear what you think!

Tell me:  Have you attended a writing workshop?  What was something you learned from your participation?

  1. I've never attended a local workshop. Shocking, I know, and there's no excuse. Maybe this will be something to do in the future.

    1. Amateur Novelist ... It was truly an amazing experience and one that I definitely recommend! Just to be surrounded by fellow writers and lovers of words was unforgettable and I need to do it more often!
