Monday Maunder: September 3, 2012

Wow!  Where did this last week go?  Heck, where did the last month go?  How can it be September already?!?

ON READING

Reading has been poor this week.  Classes started at the local university where I work, which means that I had chaotic days and I started teaching my class.  By the time I got home at night, I was falling asleep when my son would read to me, so there was little hope in me getting any reading done.  I am really hoping to rectify that this week as I am loving my current read so far (Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness still).

ON WRITING

Writing was better this week than in past weeks thankfully.  Somehow, I was able to get some things written, despite my lack of reading.  Not sure how that happened!  Anyways, I actually have almost a full week of posts scheduled thanks to this writing.  I am even hoping that my pieces on the writing workshop from last week will be live soon so I can share them with you!  I am really excited about how much I left the park feeling energized and inspired!

ON LIFE

Life ... lots of things to share here, so I will try to make this as short and sweet as possible!

Foto Fridays will remain because I simply love them!  They may not appear every week, but they will be popping up often!  In fact, I just prepped some more pics last night to post for your enjoyment!!

Speaking of photos, I wanted to share my final shots from the Photo-A-Day August.  I am going to try to keep on participating in them in September, but may be sharing them only randomly here through my weekly maunderings.  Since I am keeping Foto Fridays, I don't want to overwhelm my readers with my renewed love of photography; afterall, it is a book blog!

28.  Clock
29.  Down

My husband and I started watching BBC's Sherlock this last weekend and completely fell in love!  What a fun, witty show!  We have only watched the first couple episodes of Season 1, but we cannot wait to watch more!

I could go on, but I will leave my ramblings at that for the week!

Tell Me:  What is on your reading, writing, and life agenda this week?

  1. Isn't Shadow of Night great? I listened to it on audio and loved every minute of it. I cannot wait to see how it all ends!

  2. First day of school tomorrow ... so lots of stress today but tomorrow's going to be nice. :) I can't wait to have more time to workout and read and clean. Right now I'm reading The Ghost of Crutchfield Hall -- which will take about one day more because it's a middle grade book. ;) Sometimes you need to take the easy route to keep on moving forward!

    1. Kristen M. ... How did the first day go?!? I am so glad that we are getting back into a routine. I desperately need it! Can't wait to hear what you think about The Ghost of Crutchfield Hall. This actually reminds me that I need to get signed up for RIP VII!!

  3. Not sure where August went, or July for that matter! Summer seemed to pass quicker than usual, as I can't get over that we're in September already!

Haven't watched Sherlock yet, but am looking forward to Elementary with Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller! Love the idea of a female Watson!

    1. Alexia561 ... I completely agree! Hopefully, I can catch up on some good reading this Fall!! Not sure what I think of Elementary. I think I will check it out though. Definitely recommend Sherlock if you get the chance!!

  4. Where did the year go!?! :)

I sort of find it funny that we seem to be on opposite ends at the end of the week. If you've had a good writing week, I've struggled. If you've struggled to catch up on reading, then reading is something I've been doing a lot of.

My focus isn't there. I'm back to turning off email/iPhone and setting a timer again.

    1. Amateur Novelist ... Wouldn't it be nice if we could just excel at both?!? If one goes well, then the other always suffers! If only we could somehow get the pros from both of us, since we are opposites!!
