Happy Book Blogger Appreciation Week!!!

This week is Book Blogger Appreciation Week (BBAW), a week where book bloggers around the world come together to share their appreciation for others and their passion for all things books!  I will be partially participating this week, with an interview tomorrow and a special post on Wednesday.  I may or may not participate the final two days thanks to a very crazy week ahead and some previously planned items.  However, I do plan to do a quick wrap-up in next week's maundering for those who may be interested.  In the meantime, I leave you with the usual weekly ramblings . . .

ON READING

Can you guess what I am STILL reading?!?  Yep, I am still reading the same book that I have been reading for a couple of weeks now ... Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness.  If I don't get some time to finish this book soon, I may be tempted to call in a mental health day at work.  I am really enjoying the story so far and just want to know what happens next!!

On a positive note, I did finish reading Locke & Key #5:  Clockworks by Joe Hill thanks to a due date at the library and the inability to renew this title.  I took an evening to read this one in a single sitting and now I'm regretting it because the end leaves you hanging and I have no idea when the sixth in the series will be released.

ON WRITING

I have a couple of exciting things to mention here this week!  First, I will be posting links to two articles for the Walrus Report regarding the writing workshop that I attended.  I am so excited to share all the treasures that I took away from this event!

Secondly, I attended a life journaling workshop this evening.  I do a lot of writing, but journaling is something that I have always wanted to do more of.  When I saw this offered through one of my local libraries, I freed up my schedule to attend.  It is a small group that meets once a month and I am really, really excited to return.  I was left with a few writing prompts, quotes to be exact, and tonight I will start my task of attempting to journal for at least five minutes every night.

ON LIFE

Life ... chaotic as usual!  This week, my son starts soccer and my daughter starts ballet.  Two more activities to add to our already busy schedule.  Let the games begin!!  And, may the odds be ever in my favor!!

Tell Me:  Are you participating in BBAW this week?  If not, what is on your reading and writing agenda?

  1. Just remember to take your book with you to practices! I get a lot of reading done during swim lessons each week. :)
I am participating in BBAW this year after ducking out of most of it last year due to some awards-related angst. When I found out there wouldn't be awards this year, I was ecstatic. This way, we can all be appreciated by our friends and readers and that can be enough.

    1. Kristen M. ... I am definitely going to try to get some reading done during practice, as long as the other child hanging out will allow it! :)

I am so excited that you are joining in BBAW this week! Now, I just need to get around to posting my appreciation (should be later today when I also talk about the why!) and reading everyone else's!!

  2. Hi, Tiffany, I met you at tonight's journal workshop and glad to have found your blog. No, I'm not participating in BBAW - can't keep up! However, my reading agenda includes speeding throu THE BOOK THIEF (am I the only person who hasn't read it yet? Probably) and my writing agenda includes finishing a short story, which, by the looks of it, will take several more drafts before it even comes close to how I imagine (know) it should be written. And then, some journaling, probably at lunch which helps keep my sanity during the work week.

    1. westcobich ... It was such a pleasure to meet you on Monday and I really look forward to future meetings!! I have actually been journaling since and am loving it!! I actually got lost in it last night!

BTW, I still have not read The Book Thief yet either, though I will be picking it up very soon. I think it is my book club pick for next month!

  3. Tif, a life journaling workshop? How absolutely fascinating! And as far as BBAW, no, and as far as agendas? Well, writing every morning this week would be cool. :)

Enjoy kid time. I'm with Kristen about bringing a book or you could write. I use to do my journaling and other writing during my daughter's tennis lessons.

I am definitely going to be trying to read or write more during practices this year. When else will I have the time?!? :)

  4. I don't think I'll be able to participate in the full week, but have written a few posts for BBAW. Am loving the opportunity to discover new bloggers! Sounds like you have a full week planned. I remember dance classes as a girl. What fun! :)

    1. Alexia561 ... I'm not able to participate the full week either, so we are in the same boat this week! Plus, I am in need of discovering new bloggers. I was just noticing through my readers how many people are no longer around. :(
