ON READING

Reading has been very dry this week!  I am still reading Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness, but am not far into the book.  This one is slow-going thanks to limited time available for reading this last week and not from lack of interest.  I only wish I could get lost in this one all day long!!

If I am able to finally get some good reading time to finish Harkness's latest novel, then I have a stack of graphic novels from the library that I need to get to, including Fables #7:  Arabian Nights (and Days) by Bill Willingham, Locke & Key #5: Clockworks by Joe Hill, and The Walking Dead:  Book Six by Robert Kirkman ... all books that I have been eagerly anticipating!!

Oh, how I wish I had more time for reading good books!

ON WRITING

This last week, I was supposed to be participating in {Sit Down and Write} Write-a-Thon.  Sadly, writing did not go as well as I had hoped.  I only completed one review and scheduled last week's posts.  My stack is still looming and I still am behind in reviews, among many other things.

However, the big positive in this aspect is a writing workshop that I attended for four hours on Saturday in the park!  I will be writing about this one soon via the Walrus Report and cannot wait to share all the details with you!  It was my first writing workshop and I absolutely loved it!

ON LIFE

Why did reading and writing not quite go as planned this last week?  To put it simply, I was exhausted from work!  For those who don't know, I work at a local university and this last week I was preparing for students to arrive on campus (which happened today!) as well as to finalize last minute details for a class that I teach in the Fall.  I am glad to have the students back on campus (it's my favorite part of the job!), but the first few weeks of the semester really wear me out!

I will leave you with some of my Photo-A-Day links from this last week, but you will notice that I do not have the full list.  I fell behind on those as well.  I may try to catch up or I may just start back up from here.  I will see where my mood takes me!

Finally, I am going to leave you with a question regarding my Foto Friday feature ... I am still playing with this feature and I would love to hear your feedback.  Should the feature stay, should it remain with some changes, or should it go completely?  Of course, you can also share your latest reading and writing news because I always love to chat about that as well!

  2. Kia, I gave up on Wolf Hall. It didn't hold my interest.

Tif, I think you had an AWESOME week. The writing workshop alone is OMG news. As far as the feature, I'm cool with whatever you decide. As you know, I've been in the decision-making mode on what to do with my AN blog post. There's a comfort in weekly posts. On the flip side, too many weekly commitments can be stressful. What to do? I haven't found a middle road as of yet, so I post when I feel like it. :)

Posting when you feel like it sounds good to me! I don't want too many weekly commitments either because it takes the fun out of blogging!
