Monday Maunder: A Day Late!

You are never going to believe this!  I turned off my computer yesterday and completely forgot to write up my weekly maundering post!  Instead, I got lost in a book and read into the wee hours, resulting in a very long workday today!!  Oh well!  Here we go a-maunderin' a day late anyways!

ON READING

This week, I finished The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted by Elizabeth Berg and thanks to my late night reading last night, The Walking Dead:  Book 2 by Robert Kirkman.  The former was probably not the book for me and the latter definitely was!  I will have reviews hopefully coming soon for both of them.

The exciting part is that I finally feel that my reading is beginning to pick back up and get back to normal.  Reading on a regular basis does this body so much good, and I genuinely feel that I can feel it all the way to my bones.  Except maybe when I stay up way too late reading when I have to go to work early the next day!  (BUT, it was completely worth it!!)

ON WRITING

Writing is beginning to pick up as well.  I have started slow and am just trying to take baby steps here.  We will see where this week will take me.

ON LIFE

Last week, I forgot to mention a couple of winners from the recent giveaways.  Both have confirmed, so please be sure to give them your congratulations!!  The Three Book Giveaway will be gracing the shelves of Anita and Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes will be going to Lisa!  Happy Reading!!

The next couple of weeks are going to be crazy busy!  My little princess is having her birthday party this weekend and then my mother is coming in to visit.  I am so excited for both of these events, though my father's absence will definitely be hard to ignore.  He was scheduled to take this same trip with my mother before unexpectedly departing this world.  I am so very thankful that I will be with my mother during this time, probably crying on each other's shoulders.  However, I also hope to have a number of adventures that I can share with her and maybe with you in pictures later this month.

I was going to share one more piece of news with you, but I am going to leave that one for later when I have more information to share about it.  Until I write again . . .

Tell Me:  What are you reading?  Do you have any exciting plans that you are looking forward to in the weeks to come?

  1. It was tough to have my mother-in-law visit after my father-in-law passed away (5 1/2 years ago? already?!). I still think about how he would have wanted to be at the airport three hours early and it feels sneaky to drop my MIL off later. :) It will always be bittersweet, I think.

    1. Kristen M. ... So glad I am not alone in this feeling. We are both finding it bittersweet in the couple of days we have had so far.
