2011: Ringing In The New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It is that time of year to be wrapping up 2010 and ringing in 2011.  You know . . . where people post their "Best of . . ." lists, share their goals for the upcoming year, and all that good stuff.  This year, I have decided to keep things simple.  I am going to share a few of my favorites, a couple that may not be the usual.  I also want to share my goals for the upcoming year because I do hope to see some changes coming in 2011 here on the blog.  Lastly, I will share my 2010 wrap-up and 2011 starting line-up for challenges.  All of these will be in different posts though.  No need to drone on and on . . . might as well split things up a bit!  Besides, it goes a bit hand-in-hand with my goals anyways!  So, without further ado, let's begin . . .

2010 brought a little travel, a lot of chaos, and not enough reading or writing on my end.  I'm hoping to make up these gaps in 2011, but that means that I need to cut back on a few things.  There is simply not enough time in my day to do it all . . . as much as I wish I could.  In 2011, you can expect more . . .

READING

WRITING

EXERCISING

Reading is what keeps me sane and helps me relax.  Writing helps me release my stress and can be very cathartic.  And, exercise simply needs to be done for my health and well-being as well.  Plus, when I'm exercising, I'm hoping to return to more audio.  I've missed my audio these last months!

I will be reading more.  I will be writing more (and hopefully, more than just here on the blog!).  And, I will be exercising a lot more.

With this in mind, some things also have to go.  It was a very hard decision to make, but I have decided to discontinue a variety of things in my life . . . a couple of things right here on Tif Talks Books or related to it.  Please cue Taps (the music played at funerals, if you don't know) . . .

I actually have stopped posting the monthly feature the last couple of months and I am now making the devoted website unavailable.  I may or may not return to these projects, but you can expect them to be absent in 2011.  However, I still believe in supporting local and will continue to post what I can . . . just not on a regular basis and tagged as Literary Locals.

When I started this weekly feature, I only had the intention of doing it for one year.  I am sticking by this decision and the wrap-up for the year will be coming later this month.  With this feature, I have fallen in love with fairy tales once again, so will continue to follow them via my Fairy Tale Challenge!

I hope to post on a more regular basis, write reviews immediately following the read completion (though not all books may be reviewed), and continue to be present for all book-ish chat on Facebook and Twitter.

What about you?  Any specific plans you would like to share?

  1. Last night we wrote out resolutions and my three were exercising(making sure to do my yoga every day, not once a week), more writing and read the books around me. Glad to see we are thinking on the same lines.

I've just posted my reading resolutions on my blog, but as for others, my main one is to do more yoga
