Sunday Synopsis: October 10, 2010

I have been almost non-existent these days and I am going to apologize for that right up front!  As I mentioned previously, I am taking a trip out west in less than two weeks now and my mind is getting things ready for that trip, making sure I'm caught up at work, and at home!  Needless to say, blogging has taken a back seat.  Reading has taken a bit of back seat as well, but it is still moving . . . just more like at a turtle's pace!!

Sadly, I only finished my Fairy Tale Fridays post this week, featuring The Invisible One and The Rough-Faced Girl, a Native American tale based on oral tradition.  Other than that, I really don't have much else to say for this week, so I thought I would just share my weekly reads.  I finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson this last week and have started his second, The Girl Who Played With Fire.  So far, I'm liking it and will try to get a review written soon to share with you all!  I'm actually hoping to finish the entire trilogy by the time I leave.  I was able to get a copy of the third at the library and it is due back the week I leave, so the timing couldn't be better!  As for audio . . . I have had so much on my mind that I have not been able to focus and I am officially in an audio slump . . . except for maybe Marc Brown's Arthur tales that I listen to with my kids!

With the talk about Larsson's books, I am now shutting down for the night and heading to bed with Lisbeth and Mikael!  Good night, sweet dreams, and happy reading!!

What are you reading this week?

  1. Did you really have sweet dreams after reading the Millenium trilogy? 'Fraid it would give me nightmares, as you can tell from my review, http://the-book-addict.blogspot.com/2010/10/its-book-and-movie-6-words-8-syllables.html
so much so I've only read the first book.

  2. Tracy . . . I'm reading the second now and am finding the second just as intriguing. It definitely does not give me sweet dreams, but I'm still fascinated for some reason. BTW, I just posted a comment on your review!

  3. Thanks, Tif!
Yes, the books do seem to fascinate people, much as a poisonous snake is fascinating to watch.
