WISH LIST: Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

Description (Google Books):  Classic novel that has inspired generations of seekers. Blending Eastern mysticism and psychoanalysis, Hesse presents a strikingly original view of man and culture and the arduous process of self-discovery, reconciliation, harmony, and peace.

Recommended by:  Rebecca of Lost in Books and Jason W. (personal friend)

Special Notes:  Another book to add to my readings to learn more about all religions and spirituality!

  1. I'm currently enjoying reading Steppenwolf by Hesse, and Siddhartha is the next book of his I really want to read - I'm not remotely religious but I've always been attracted to eastern spirituality.

  2. Tracy . . . Me too! And, I've heard such great things about Hesse! How's Steppenwolf? Do I need to add this one to my list, too?

  3. I'm halfway through Steppenwolf at the moment TIF, so I'm going to reserve judgement until I've finished it, although it's certainly food for thought. But I would say to read Orwell's Keep The Aspidistra Flying as well, if you haven't already read it (although one of my Uni friends hated that one).
