Sunday Synopsis: September 5, 2010

What a week this has been!  I had high hopes to get back on track and then I got run over by a head cold train! Wowza!  I was knocked off my feet like I haven't been for a while, but I believe I am back on track to recovery!  Needless to say, because of this sickness, I ended up missing a bunch of stuff this week, but nothing was more disappointing than not being able to see Cassandra Clare.  I just keep telling myself that there are more great authors coming to my area and I will make at least one of them in the upcoming months.

Despite my absence, I did get in a bunch of writing, publishing most of my back-logged posts today.  If you have not yet had a chance to see what I had to say this week, here's a quick summary . . .

And, since it is the last of the month, I also wanted to post a quick snapshot of where I currently am in my reading challenges.  I actually have had a decent reading month, so let's see how it reflects the numbers below . . .
Some of the numbers are looking better overall, but I really need to kick things in gear if I'm going to finish some of these challenges by the end of the year.  I've only got a few more months left before I am all out of time!  Here's to hoping for another great week of reading!!

In closing, I wanted to share with you my current plans for reading this week . . . I'm currently reading The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale and plan to follow it shortly with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson (finally!).  I can't decide which audio to go with next though . . . I've got The Jungle Book and The Tale of Desperaux from the library currently.  Which do you think I should go with?  And, what are your reading plans this week?

  2. I have only seen the Desperaux film. I need to read the original at some point! This week I'll be finishing up John Connolly's The Gates (so incredibly wicked and hilarious!) and listening to The Graveyard Book (my first audiobook in YEARS). I'm not sure what I'll read next but I have some library books to get through here so it will probably be one of them!

I hope you fully recover soon. Z and I both picked up a cold from being at the school this week. Mine is very minor but he's wiped out, stuffy and coughing. Blech!

  3. How are you doing so many challenges?! I'm only doing two (three if you count my never-ending personal challenge to read the 1,001 Books) and I can't even keep up with those. I mean, I've already completed both, basically, but I always forget to update my reads for them and cross things out and ..bah. No, no more.

  4. FICTION STATE OF MIND . . . City of Bones?!? I just finished that one and I cannot wait to hear what you think of it!! I haven't heard of Magic Bites. Let me know what you think and if it is worth me picking up too!

Kristen M. . . Oooohhh, this gets me excited to read The Gates! I think I'm going to read it next month!! Are you enjoying the audio? I'll be interested to hear your thoughts about the book and the experience! And, I hope you get to feeling better soon too!!

Roof Beam Reader . . . I used to be much worse at them!! I am doing better this year by keeping monthly updates. It makes me be accountable. Now, I just have to get better about actually completing them!! LOL!! :)
