Mixed-Up Fairy Tales

Just a couple of weeks ago, Imagination Soup featured a fabulous post regarding Mixed-Up Fairy Tales.  I was going to feature this post in my Sunday Synopsis, but considering it is Once Upon A Week, I thought it would be better to have a completely separate post to give it the attention that it deserves!

What is a Mixed-Up Fairy Tale?  Break your favorite tales down into three categories:  character, setting, and plot.  From here, you can break all your favorite tales down into these categories, mix them up, and create a whole new tale!  For example, Imagination Soup uses an example of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Hansel and Gretel, and Little Red Riding Hood.  Once you have the three main pieces to the story, play with your children, your students, your co-workers, or even adult friends and re-create some of your childhood favorites!  It is sure to bring a moment of genuine entertainment!

Now, before I sign off, I want you to click on over to Imagination Soup's Mixed-Up Fairy Tales for the original post, more examples, and even a printable list of sample categories!  And, if you are feeling up to it, tell me what tales you would combine, in no particular order!!

This post is written in honor of Once Upon A Week, hosted by Today's Adventure!  Since this is my last post for the event, I want to also send out a big shout-out to Vanessa for hosting such a fun event!  Thank you!!
