The Forest of Hands and Teeth is a book that sent me on a roller coaster of emotions . . . shock, frustration, love, sadness, betrayal, etc. I really could go on and on. By the time I got to the end, I turned off the CD (I was listening to the audio version read by Vane Millon) and just sat in silence. I want to like it, but it is one that leaves you thinking . . . A LOT!! Even after reading it so many weeks ago, I am still letting it soak in!
I discovered a while back from Michelle at Galleysmith that there is a sequel called Dead Tossed Waves. I have already ordered the book and it sits on my bookshelf soon to be read. I cannot wait to pick it up! (Hmmmm . . . maybe this says enough about my opinion of the book?!?!)

hmm I wonder if the audio version makes a difference.I adored the book, it held me spell bound so well done, I have the dead tossed waves, hoping to read it this week for my zombie week :) maybe it's just not your style ?

ReplyDeleteFICTION STATE OF MIND . . . The more and more I think about it, the more I really like this book. BUT, I will say that the audio narrator was brilliant. I definitely recommend it!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to like it, but couldn't. I tend to like happy endings, but I relegated myself to the fact that the book would probably end tragically. What I think really had me hung up was the fact I didn't like the heroine by the end. She was so obsessed with herself and even after she lost EVERYTHING, it just didn't affect her as much as it should have (in my opinion). By the end I just didn't like her.
ReplyDeleteAnnalisaG . . . She was very egocentric! I think that is really what was holding me back from raving about the book completely. I enjoyed it, but had a hard time relating to the main character. Hmmm . . . you may have just hit on what I couldn't put my finger on before! Thanks! :)
