Literary Locals: What's To Come?

At the end of 2009, I surveyed all my readers as to what they would like to see from future Literary Locals pieces . . . and I have listened!! Though there were very few votes, I still found every vote important and this is what I have decided to do . . .

The largest change is really an extension of my feature!! I have created a companion site in which I am collecting information on local authors, compiling a list for all states, provinces, or equivalent, and creating a directory. I have found that many readers are not aware of which authors are local to them. Hopefully, this directory will help those interested in discovering some locals! If you are interested in checking out the site, you can visit http://www.literarylocals.blogspot.com/. It is currently under construction (and I would love your help if you are interested in designing a new button and blog page!); however, I am also in the midst of collecting entries for the directory. If you have an author to add, take the survey that is linked on the front page. If you have a meme, challenge, etc. that is associated with local authors, then share them with me! I need your help in getting this one off the ground!!!

As for the features on this site, I will continue to do a variety of features . . . reviews, local literary hot spots, author interviews, etc. . . . whatever really suits my fancy at that time. I encourage you to share with me (and others!) what you feature of your locals on the last day of every month, but from this day forward, I will be making it easier for you to share with Mr. Linky.

I truly enjoyed the first year of Literary Locals and thought it was a success. I look forward to watching it grow in 2010 and hearing from oldies and newbies along the way!

See you on the 31st for more Literary Locals!!
